Cultural Monument, Category I, (1963), declared by the decision of the Rectorate of the State University. The house is well-preserved, concerning its architectural structure, where elements of historical, architectural, and artistic value stand out both inside and outside the house. The Çeka family house enjoys a solid 250-year-old structure, built by two Dibran soldiers, Jashar Lleshi and Jashar Xhani, where stone walls dominate both the ground floor and the surrounding wall. It has an oriental style and preserves three characteristic spaces with traditional ornaments: the trapazan, musandër, and sënduk paje rooms, a ceiling crafted from wood, a fireplace adorned with ornaments, and other elements that make up the environment belonging to the “odës së miqve” (friends’ room) from the 18th-20th century period. The house has an area of 290 m2, with two floors, and a roughly 12-dynym courtyard. From available written documents, it is evident that this house had an altar in the 17th century, a feature associated with traditional and affluent homes. According to the documents, it is mentioned that “… Franciscan missionaries, when stopping in Shkodra for their needs, until 1861 would visit the houses of the earliest Shkodra landlords where some families with permission kept altars in small rooms, including the Çeka family. In this characteristic house, the distinguished patriot Filip Pjetër Çeka was born and lived, one of the major contributors to the Albanian League in Shkodra (1878-1880). This house is a journey back in time to remember the place the Çeka family holds in history and the history of the Shkodra people as valuable contributors to the national cause. Today, the house is inherited by Engjell Çeka, the son of Filip and Marika, an economist who has taken care to preserve and document traces of the family’s history, turning the house into a mini-museum. Engjell is married to Florinda, a music teacher, and they have two sons, Gjorgji and Ervini. The street near the Rosary Assembly Church bears the name of the Çeka family.
